Flashnet joins the Lighting Controls Association to accelerate smart street lighting innovation across the United States
We are proud to announce that Flashnet is now a member of the Lighting Controls Association (LCA), a very important step in our mission to support smarter, more energy-efficient and open lighting infrastructure across the United States.

Founded by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), the Lighting Controls Association is a leading voice in advancing smart lighting solutions through education, standardization and advocacy. As a member, Flashnet joins a select group of industry leaders committed to shaping the future of lighting controls and accelerating the adoption of smart lighting technologies.
Supporting smart street lighting growth in the U.S.
This announcement follows a period of significant growth for Flashnet in the North American market. After successful inteliLIGHT® deployments in several U.S. cities, including an award-winning project in Washington, D.C., we officially established Flashnet LLC, our dedicated U.S. subsidiary.
Today, over 350,000 Flashnet smart streetlight controllers are installed across the U.S., helping cities improve energy efficiency, enhance public safety and reduce operational costs.
Adapting to the U.S. smart street lighting needs
The North American smart street lighting market comes with its own expectations, infrastructure specifics and regulatory context. For Flashnet, adapting to these local conditions became a priority long before the first implemented project.
Successfully deploying smart lighting in the U.S. means more than bringing proven solutions overseas. It means listening to cities, understanding utility requirements and responding with technology that’s not only compliant, but built with long-term value in mind.
Over the past year, we’ve introduced key updates across our product line, all shaped by the specific needs of American cities and utilities. From compatibility with existing infrastructure to ensuring seamless integration with local networks, our goal is to make smart lighting practical, scalable and future-proof for the U.S. market.
This commitment to local alignment reflects our broader philosophy: smart cities succeed when innovation meets real-world conditions. And for that, adaptability is essential.
A commitment to openness and innovation
Joining the Lighting Controls Association is especially important for us since it reflects our commitment to aligning with U.S. market needs, contributing to best practices and supporting a collaborative ecosystem for lighting professionals, cities and utilities alike. Dominic Macaluso, Business Development Manager – North America, Flashnet.
As the U.S. smart lighting market continues to evolve, Flashnet brings a proven track record, a deep commitment to R&D and a philosophy grounded in openness, interoperability and long-term value. With the LCA, we look forward to supporting education, knowledge sharing and innovation in smart street lighting control.
