This November, we’ll join the North American outdoor lighting community in Phoenix for the IES Street & Area Lighting Conference (SALC), one of the few industry events dedicated specifically to street and area lighting.

Organized by the Illuminating Engineering Society, SALC brings together the people directly responsible for designing, operating and modernizing outdoor lighting infrastructure: municipalities, utilities, Departments of Transportation, engineers, consultants and manufacturers. 

For us, that makes SALC one of the most relevant events on our calendar. As an IES member, we share the organization’s focus on improving the lighted environment through technical knowledge, standards and practical collaboration across the industry.

Those aren’t theoretical questions for us. In Washington, D.C., 75,000 inteliLIGHT® controllers are already in action for a deployment that won the DALI Alliance 2026 award for Best Integration into Other Systems. Nationwide, more than 350,000 inteliLIGHT® controllers are in service across U.S. cities and utility networks. 

We’ll also be introducing our NEMA 480V controller, built specifically for the 480V networks common across U.S. outdoor lighting.  

Across the United States, public lighting is shifting from a traditional municipal or utility asset into a connected infrastructure network. LED conversion delivered substantial energy savings, but adding intelligent control takes it further, giving operators real-time visibility, precise control and far better information for maintenance and long-term planning.

At SALC, our team will be discussing how inteliLIGHT® supports that transition: individual streetlight control, remote monitoring and interoperable architectures that integrate with existing infrastructure and third-party systems.

We’ll focus on the questions that come up in real deployments. How do you upgrade an existing network without replacing more than you need to? Which communication technology fits your environment? How do you manage tens of thousands of assets reliably? And how do you keep your options open as operational needs change?
